A Note on Friending, Why I Do It & Should You:
I friend people for various reasons, mostly because I've read your LJ and enjoy it, I've run into you commenting on other people's journals and enjoy your wit, and/or I'm reading some of your work and want to be aware of updates. Though I appreciate it when people friend me back, I don't expect it. I don't have anything outstanding going on here and really only use LJ for strictly fandom related things these days. On the other hand, if you've actually found something you like here and want to friend me? Thank you, crazy person. ;)

A Note on De-Friending, Why I Do It & Should You:
I occasionally do housekeeping updates on my friends list. Usually it's to remove defunct communities or communities that I'm not longer participating in (and sometimes that's just because I can't keep up). However, occasionally I do remove individual users from my list as well. I'm never going to post about it when I do it, mostly because it just ends up being awkward for everyone involved. As for returning the favor... if you aren't enjoying what you're reading or you find yourself skipping my posts, I hope that you've already de-friended me because you should know that I'm not easily offended. To be honest, I find it presumptous to even tell you that it's OK. It's your friend list and you should only have me on it if you want me on it. It's really that simple.
